The Flexible casing joint on new subsea wells

  • The flexible casing joint will reduce stress variations in the welds under a well head and increase fatigue life considerably.
  • The flexible casing joint will reduce negative effects on WH system from thermal expansion of the 20 inch casing during drilling.
  • The flexible casing joint can be installed on any existing 18 ¾ WH design.

Slot recovery on existing subsea wells

Vasshella has defined a method for recovering wellheads where fatigue life time is expired.

The purpose is to reset fatigue life time of a well head system populated in an existing infrastructure for extended life of the Templates, Manifolds and Pipelines and Umbilical system.

The method is to cut the 20” casing and retrieve the well head.

Then prepare or refurbished a well head with the flexible casing joint and a 16” liner extension fitted with a water energized packer.

Install the wellhead with a pretension system; the Well Head running tool on drill pipe with a modified CUP tester.

The wellhead will have a preferred download on the landing shoulder and a long fatigue life and be ready for years of new service.

The flexible guide post on bop systems

The flexible guide post on bop systems

For a moored or DP drilling rig, working at water depth <500m.

Vasshella Subsea has developed a flexible guidepost for BOP systems to avoid problems during Emergency Disconnect (EQD) of Lower Marine Riser Package (LMRP).

Capable of an angular deflection of 5 deg of the lower flex joint, the flexible guide post will have intact capabilities after disconnection and the LMRP can be safely landed.

The flexible guide post on imr vessels

Flexible prongs on a module handling system (MHS) for remote operated tools (ROT) on intervention vessels.

The major oil companies in the north sea has defined the vessel operations to be the preferred method for installing and replacing modules.

A critical face of the operation is when the modules running on guide wires guide funnels enter the prongs (guide posts) of the vessels cursor frame.

Vasshella Subsea flexible guide post ensures a smooth entrance and reduces the risk of overloading the modules.
